Lipoma Removal

What is it?

It is an outpatient surgical procedure that consists of removing a fat tumor called a lipoma.

These are benign soft tissue tumors made up of fat cells. Known as abnormal fatty growths, they are usually round, mobile and soft in shape.

Before the surgery

A lipoma removal should be performed if:

  • You feel discomfort in the area

  • abnormal fat growth

  • Discomfort

  • unaestheticism

Face-to-face assessment must be carried out directly with the specialist, and the technique to be used must be determined. That is, if it is by suction or exceresis. A physical examination (palpation) must be carried out and sometimes a specific pre-surgical examination such as soft tissue ultrasonography must be carried out.
