Maxtopexy or breast lift

It is an outpatient surgical procedure that consists of the repositioning and firming of the breasts.

Before the surgery

It is decided to perform an augmentation mammoplasty due to:

  • Correct excessive loss of breast volume

  • Pregnancy and/or lactation

  • Aging

  • Weightloss

  • You are not satisfied with the shape of your breasts

  • Give the breasts a more harmonious shape, and firmness according to their physical build.

These causes can make the breasts lose their tension, their tone, relax, become flaccid and droop. Face-to-face assessment must be carried out directly with the specialist.

This surgery can last between 2 to 3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

Implants can be used or not, however, our professionals advise the use of these to provide permanent support, since, if a pexy is performed without implants, it is likely that over the years they will fall again.

In this procedure, the areola and nipple are relocated, and it is possible to reduce the size of the areola.

There are several approach techniques for this surgery, and it all depends on the degree of breast sagging or ptosis. Mastopexy can be simple and only require a small crescent surgery above the areola or end up with a vertical and/or periareolar scar, or even an inverted "T".

In certain cases it will be necessary to only raise the breast with an implant or to combine these implants with the removal of breast tissue. Everything depends on the assessment with our surgeons.

After surgery

It generates an 8-day disability, you must follow all the post-surgical recommendations to obtain optimal results.

The duration of the prosthesis is indefinite, a mammary ultrasonography should be performed annually, and, if they do not have any alteration, they should not be removed unless the patient wants to change the size.
