Lipo-abdominoplasty or lipectomy

What is it?
Before the surgery

It is a surgical procedure that consists of removing excess skin (flaccidity), rectus abdominis plication (muscle tying) improving diastasis that can cause pregnancy or an increase in abdominal perimeter due to weight gain, and omphaloplasty (creation of a new belly button).

It is indicated for both men and women, although the majority of patients are women seeking to improve the abdomen after pregnancy. Generally, our surgeons perform liposuction associated with this procedure to better shape the body and even reserve the fat from said liposuction to lipoinject it into the buttocks with the aim of increasing their size.

It is decided to perform a tummy tuck or lipectomy, by:

  • Correct accumulations of specific fats in conjunction with flaccidity in the abdomen.

  • considerable weight loss

  • You are not satisfied with the shape of your body.

  • Has marked flaccidity

  • improve self esteem

Face-to-face assessment must be carried out directly with the specialist, and determine the results that you want to obtain, remember that each specific case is totally different, each person will obtain a different result.

During surgery

This surgery can last between 2 to 4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

The abdominal muscles are tied, the excess skin is removed, leaving a transverse scar in the lower part of the abdomen, which is completely coverable with bathing suits and/or underwear, and eliminating some of the infraumbilical striae.

When doing the navel again, the appropriate technique is used for each case, ensuring that its result is as natural as possible, in addition, the fat from the other areas is liposuctioned and reserved in case the patient is interested in increasing the buttocks. with lipoinjection and some drains are left to avoid the accumulation of fluids.

In most cases, the patient is hospitalized or supervised the first night by a nurse assigned to them completely free of charge by the sensus clinic, this may vary in each case.

After surgery

It generates a disability of 8 to 15 days, you must follow all the post-surgical recommendations to obtain optimal results.

Although this procedure is not to lose weight, it can be achieved indirectly, but it has to be a decision in conjunction with a change in eating habits and an exercise program, to maintain the results over time.

NOTE:You may require another procedure if your flaccidity in the abdomen is not so marked, in these cases, you can opt for aMini Abdominoplasty.
